TEAPOT

TEAPOT on Petercelli Street in Fort Cochin serves fantastic tea, coffee, juices and snacks. I’d frequent it for breakfast and high tea during the week I’d spent there in the last week of March. The Pineapple Juice and Chicken Cheese Omelette are fantastic.

What do I do when I’m not in Kerala for breakfast? I make my own Doughnuts! Don’t you just love Doughnuts? Actually, they’re a lot simpler to prepare that you’d imagine. Give it a go!

  1. Excellent monochrome photography on your blog. Your photos capture the human spirit most well. This woman with her head bent down, seems sad and lonely.

  2. Oh, I like this shot very much! It has just the right air of mystery about it! Are they have a clandestine meeting, plotting out spy shenanigans? Having a good gossip? Making surreptitious plans to run away together? Or are they not together at all, but rather both engrossed in their concerns?

It’s funny, because without the explanation, I honestly would not have realized it is the picture of the interior of a restaurant. I do love a picture that can tell a story.

It’s my first time here, and looking down your blog posts, it looks as if you take many a picture that suggests a story. How wonderful, and what a gift.

    • Thanks, mandira.
They do have a balcony, but its not in use. It does have a mezzanine. High ceilings everywhere. And plenty of antique metallic and porcelain teapots!

    • Yes, I still use black & white film. Whilst I shall continue to use 120mm film, I am contemplating giving up the use of 35mm film. I shall experiment with ‘Digital Monochrome’ through the coming months.
      Thanks, Mystique.

  3. That omelet sounds delish! Makes me hungry! I love finding those quiet, out-of-the-way shops with great food and ambiance and Teapot sounds great! Love the pic. Wonderful composition. Well done! Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I have always loved these places o’er loud…jammed places…! Unfortunately we do not have such cosy, coffee shops out here…

    Great shot..as usual 🙂

    • I neither drink tea nor coffee to be honest. And even if I did, I’d not patronise the urban coffee chains.
      Thanks, Dew.

  5. You have some amazing photos here! Well done. Thank you for commenting on my blog – I am relatively new at taking photos but feel incredibly inspired by nature’s colours and want to capture them in my pictures. I love your black and whites. Greetings from Vancouver Island. Michelle

  7. great view and wonderful presence in this photo….i didn’t know you could find any such food in India….in 2 months of my stay the nearest i found was the crepe like batter with eggs cooked inside served on the roadside.

  8. I like the composition & the black & white frame.
The snap has an uncanny voyeur (in a positive way) feel to it, capturing a lone person in her thoughts
